Responsible Play

TipZone & Take Futures are free, play-money games
There is no real-money wagering, betting or gambling on Footymate. You never deposit, stake or win real money. Footy IQ and in-app points are for fun and bragging rights only — they can't be bought, cashed out or exchanged for anything of value. These features are for players 18 and over.
Even though nothing on Footymate involves real money, we care about your relationship with footy tipping and betting in general. Predicting games can be great fun; it should stay that way. This page is here to help you keep it fun — and to point you to real support if betting anywhere starts to cause you or someone you know harm.
Keeping it fun
- It's a game, not a system. Footy is unpredictable — even the best tippers get plenty wrong. Chasing a "sure thing" is the fastest way to stop enjoying it.
- Take breaks. If you find yourself refreshing TipZone constantly or feeling stressed about your Footy IQ, step away. It'll still be here next round.
- Watch how you feel. Frustration, chasing losses, or playing to escape stress are warning signs — even in a free game, and especially with real-money betting elsewhere.
- Keep real-money betting in perspective. Footymate doesn't offer it, and if you bet elsewhere, only ever bet what you can comfortably afford to lose.
Signs it might be a problem
With real-money gambling, it may be time to seek support if you notice any of these:
- Spending more time or money than you intended, or trying to win back losses;
- Betting to escape stress, boredom or low mood;
- Hiding your betting from family or friends;
- Borrowing money, or falling behind on bills, to keep betting;
- Feeling anxious, guilty or irritable about your gambling.

Set your own limits
A simple habit that helps: decide before you start how long you'll play and stick to it. If footy tipping ever feels like a chore or a source of stress rather than fun, that's your cue to take a break. You can stop playing Footymate at any time, and delete your account from Settings.
If you're worried about your own or someone else's gambling, please reach out to Gambling Help Online above. Talking to someone helps.
